In a step-like signal, rise time refers to the time required for a signal to change from a specified low reference level to a specified high reference level. Typically, the low and high reference levels are 10% and 90% of the signal step height respectively. The step height is equal to difference between the high state and the low state levels.

The Rise Time Gadget in Origin provides an intuitive and interactive way to
analyze rise/fall time of a signal plotted in a graph.

Features of the Rise Time Gadget include:
- Three methods for calculating rise/fall time, Linear Search, Histogram and Largest Triangle
- Select a specific region of the signal by moving and resizing a region of interest (ROI) control
- Easily select desired data plot from the graph layer with multiple plots.
- Display low and high levels inside the ROI control
- Display rise/fall time and rise/fall range on top of ROI
